| 1. Thy Lord destroyed the Owners of the Elephant in order to attach the hearts of the Quraish - 2. To make them attached to their journeys in winter and summer. 3. So they should worship the Lord of this House, 4. Who has fed them against hunger, and has given them security against fear. 1. Hast thou seen him who denies the Judgment ? 2. That is he who drives away the orphan, 3. And urges not the feeding of the poor. 4. So woe to those who pray, 5. But are unmindful of their Prayer. 6. They like only to be seen of men, 7. And withhold legal alms. 1. Surely, We have bestowed upon thee abundance of good; 2. So pray to thy Lord, and offer sacrifice. 3. Surely, it is thy enemy who shall be without issue. |
