| 1. By the Time, 2. Surely, man is ever in a state of loss, 3. Except those who believe and do righteous deeds, and exhort one another to preach Truth, and exhort one another to be steadfast. 1. Woe to every backbiter, slanderer, 2. Who amasses wealth and counts it over and over. 3. He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 4. Nay ! he shall, surely, be cast into the crushing torment. 5. And what should make thee know what the crushing torment is ? 6. It is ALLAH's kindled fire, 7. Which rises over the hearts. 8. It will be closed in on them 9. In outstretched columns. 1. Knowest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the Owners of the Elephant ? 2. Did HE not cause their design to miscarry ? 3. And HE sent against them swarm of birds, 4. Which ate their dead bodies, striking them against stones of clay. 5. And thus made them like broken straw, eaten up. |
